How to Rob the Bank

Why the Bank is a teaching heist

The Bank is one of the best mid-early robberies in Hero Legends: valuable enough to matter, readable enough for new villains, and deadly enough that bad exits teach bounty lessons fast. Use this page together with the broader How to Rob guide and the cash loop in How to Make Money.

Loadout before you walk in

Minimum:

  • Invisibility - the difference between a clean bag and a public execution
  • Basic M1 / block comfort from Controls
  • A mental sell-point route so you do not dance in the lobby with loot

Nice to have:

  • Super Speed or Quick Step for the leave (Nova / Acid / Quick Step)
  • A teammate watching the street while you work the objective
  • Awareness of hero tower signals after V2

Skip Magic Blast. It does not make Bank safer.

Safe approach checklist

  1. Scout whether heroes are already rotating - tower lights and street noise matter
  2. Approach under Invisibility instead of sprinting the front door as a highlight reel
  3. Clear the objective steps the current build requires (registers, vault door, NPCs - verify live prompts)
  4. Break Invisibility only when you must interact
  5. Re-stealth for the exit whenever the kit allows

During the robbery

  • Do not emote farm mid-objective on a full server
  • Watch for players with Laser Vision / tracking gadgets that punish stealth - see Gadgets
  • If a hero lands early, decide instantly: abandon, peek fight, or call peel. Ego 1v2s dump bags
  • Remember downed arrest timers - dying on the tile often means prison, not a cute reset (Escape Prison)

Exit and sell discipline

The Bank does not pay you for stylish deaths.

  1. Leave on a pre-chosen path (alley vs main street)
  2. Use verticality if you own Flight / Spider city swing after the Spider rework
  3. Sell immediately at the known turn-in / sell flow from the money guide
  4. Only then decide whether to chain Jewelry or push Military Base

Common failures

  • Buying Invisibility then never using it on approach
  • Fighting every hero instead of banking the bag
  • Chaining a second robbery with a full bounty spotlight
  • Following Superhero Legends bank tutorials for the wrong game

Extra practical notes for Bank mains

Treat the Bank as a classroom, not a casino. Your first ten clears should optimize sell rate, not highlight-reel fights. If heroes are stacked on the tile, leave with partial progress rather than donating a full bag to an arrest timer.

When you graduate from Bank to Vault and Military Base, keep the same stealth discipline. The only things that change are turret levers, canister greed, and how fast the hero tower signals summon rotates. Re-read How to Rob before you invent a new ego route on a 30-player server.

If Invisibility keeps failing because of trackers, fix the gadget matchup on Gadgets instead of blaming the Bank itself. Powers and utilities solve different halves of the same heist.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

What power is best for robbing the Bank?

Invisibility is the default safety tool. Add Speed or Quick Step for the exit when you can.

Should I fight heroes inside the Bank?

Only if you can win fast. Otherwise leave or reset - bags matter more than pride.

Is Bank better than Military Base?

Bank is usually safer for learning. Military Base pays more but needs turret discipline.

Do heroes get alerts for Bank robberies?

Expect rotates, especially when tower and city signals light up after V2-style systems. Assume you are on a clock.

What should I do after a successful Bank run?

Sell first, then either chain a soft target or save toward better powers on the tier list.
