Hero Legends Controls

M1, block, and ability fundamentals for skill combat on every device.

Last updated:

Learn the verbs, then learn your power

Hero Legends combat is built on a small set of inputs that every power re-skins: M1 (basic attack string), block, abilities, and movement. Mastering those verbs transfers when you swap from Invisibility courier play to Super Strength brawling or full NanoTech.

This page is the control and combat basics hub. Applied duel theory lives on the PVP guide. Side systems (bounty, prison) live on the Players Hub.

Core combat inputs

M1 鈥?basic attack

M1 is your auto string / punch / kit basic. Different powers change:

  • Damage per hit
  • How quickly you break blocks (Super Strength is famous here; NanoTech M1s also pressure guards)
  • Range (melee vs NanoTech-style reach)

Habits:

  • Fire intentional strings instead of infinite panic clicking when the opponent is already gone
  • Stop extending when the enemy successfully disengages 鈥?reset neutral
  • Learn the confirm point where an ability should interrupt the string

Block

Block reduces or negates incoming basics when timed well. It is not a permanent dome.

Habits:

  • Block starts of known strings
  • Release to move; grounded statues die to mix and breaks
  • Respect kits designed to crack guard 鈥?holding forever against Strength or NanoTech is a losing plan

Abilities

Each equipped power adds ability slots with cooldowns. Examples of what 鈥渁bility鈥?means in practice:

  • Gravity pull / crush / black hole
  • NanoTech plasma cannons, missiles, lasers, repulsors
  • Pyrokinesis bursts and tick setups
  • Mobility tools on Speed / Flight / Spider-style kits

Habits:

  • Spend abilities as confirms, peels, or escapes
  • Keep one tool for leaving a robbery when your bag is full
  • Do not open every fight with your entire kit empty by second five

Movement and camera

  • Standard Roblox movement applies: walk, jump, camera orbit.
  • Flight and Super Speed change how you think about the city 鈥?verticality becomes a combat stat.
  • Invisibility does not remove the need for smart camera checks at Vault exits; it only forgives some of them.

Practice moving while keeping the enemy on screen. Many 鈥渓ag deaths鈥?are camera deaths.

Device notes

Keyboard / mouse

Typically the highest precision for camera flicks and ability aiming. Bind abilities somewhere you can reach without dropping movement keys. If you fight on laptop trackpads, consider a mouse before blaming the tier list.

Gamepad

Comfortable movement, slightly different aim feel on projectile powers. Recalibrate sensitivity after swapping from another Roblox combat game so you do not overflick plasma.

Touch

Viable for robberies and casual PVP; hardest for precise NanoTech confirms. Use simpler kits (Strength, Invisibility courier) while learning, then graduate.

Roblox UI scale and shift-lock preferences can change your effective control feel 鈥?spend two minutes in a quiet server tuning before ranked ego duels.

Beginner drills (five minutes)

  1. M1 only against a wall or willing friend 鈥?hear the string rhythm.
  2. Block reaction 鈥?have a partner throw basics while you only block / release.
  3. One ability confirms 鈥?land two M1s, then a single ability, then stop.
  4. Disengage 鈥?use mobility to leave at 30% HP on purpose.
  5. Bag carry sim 鈥?run a Jewelry path while refusing every optional fight.

Then take the habits into live city fights described in the PVP guide.

Power-specific control reminders

  • NanoTech: You are locking three slots 鈥?learn the full hotbar, not just one cannon.
  • Gravity: Aim pulls with purpose; accidental yeets off objectives can grief teammates.
  • Invisibility: Break combat politely; re-engage only when the bag is safe.
  • Super Strength: Your M1 is the mix. Do not forget to block the enemy鈥檚 turn.
  • DoT kits: Re-apply ticks on Thragg; see How to Beat Thragg.

UI systems adjacent to controls

  • Side select / balance UI after V2-style updates
  • Hero tower visual alerts during robberies
  • Downed state before prison arrests 鈥?mash your peel plan, not only your attack plan
  • Shop / power menu when spending the cash you earned

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

What is M1 in Hero Legends?

M1 is your basic attack string. Powers change its damage, range, and how hard it pressures block.

How does blocking work?

Block mitigates basics when timed well, but holding forever loses to break-oriented kits like Super Strength or NanoTech pressure.

Are controls the same on mobile?

The same verbs exist, but precision is harder on touch. Simpler kits help while you learn.

Do I need shift lock?

Many PVP players prefer shift lock for camera stability. Try both and keep what helps you track enemies.

Where do I practice advanced fighting?

Use this page for inputs, then study the PVP guide for neutral, pressure, and matchups.
